The Quarter Finals. The field of 16 has now been whittled to 8. Seven fighters are out of Team Rashad's and one from Team Rampage. Evans felt that the most democratic way of handling the training for his fighters was to just ease off and let them do their own training. Here are some highlights:
MEAT MASHED
Team Rashad's Matt Mitrione spent the majority of this episode is a daze from getting his brains knocked around in his fight with Scott Junk.
COCK TEASE
I gotta admit that I found this pretty funny. Rampage and his coaches decided to play yet another joke on Team Rashad by putting roosters in the coach's cars. Needless to say they left quite a mess.
FIGHT TIME
Roy Nelson
Justin Wren
Round 1: Even
This was a pretty even round. Both fighters kept it standing and spent most of the time and simply traded. I would say that Wren was the more aggressive throughout most of the round while Nelson began showing signs of a comeback towards the latter half.
Round 2: Nelson by a slim margin
This round was pretty much more of the same but this time Nelson was able to capitalize on Wren's fatigue.
Winner: Roy Nelson by decision
This was questionable as to whether it should have gone to the 3rd round. Many believe that the fight was too close to call.
My Take:
Overall this episode was pretty boring outside of the rooster prank and the fight which wasn't all that exciting to begin with. Hopefully next week will feature some more action. On a scale of 1-5 I give this week's episode a 3.
